To 2008 μας έδωσε 2 μεγάλα mmorpgs βασισμένα σε γνωστά IP's, τα Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures και Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, είχαμε μερικές ευχάριστες εκπλήξεις (Αtlantica Online), μερικές δυσάρεστες (βούρκος για το Tabula Rasa) και προχωράμε στο 2009. Αν ένα στοιχείο μπορεί να χαρακτηρίσει σε πρώτη φάση τις αναμενόμενες εντός του έτους κυκλοφορίες είναι η στροφή 180 μοιρών που γίνεται στα vanilla mmorpgs και η επιστροφή στις ρίζες που παρουσιάζεται ως next-gen. Το θέμα είναι πως βλέπουμε μικρά studios να τολμούν προς αυτή την κατεύθυνση και γουστάρουμε άπειρα.
